personal and professional growth, and civic involvement for tomorrow’s
leaders.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship
committee will be comprised of the Treasurer, President-Elect and 2 non-Board
members, appointed by the Treasurer and approved by the Board. Applicants related to (whether biologically
or through legal guardianship) of the committee members are ineligible to apply
for the scholarship. If either or both
of the elected positions have a child, grandchild or are legal guardians of a
child applying for the scholarship, then the Board President will appoint a
replacement. The Board shall approve of
this committee by the initial planning meeting of each year. Applications will be made available beginning
January 1st of each year and all applications must be post-marked
and submitted to the designated address on or before February 28th
of each year. The 4-person committee will
interview students and make a final recommendation to the Board by the April
Board meeting. Members of the Board
whose children (as defined above) have applied must abstain from the discussion
and voting. All students will be
notified of the decision by May 15th of each year.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

The student’s parent/s, primary guardian, or grandparent must be a LSM Alumni Association
member for the current and at least, past 2 years.
- The student must be a graduating senior during the school year that the scholarship is awarded.
- The student must have a 2.75 GPA or above.
- The student must agree to enroll as a full-time student at a state-accredited college,
university, or technical/trade school.
- The student must
agree to attend classes as prescribed by the school’s curriculum for the
semester for which tuition is paid.
- Scholarship recipients shall be reimbursed in the amount of $ 1,000.00 upon submission of a
paid tuition receipt for the semester for which the scholarship applies.
- In all cases the LSM Board of Directors will have the final decision on eligibility of each
applicant, and, if for any reason an applicant is found to be ineligible by the
scholarship committee, the scholarship shall not be awarded.
